Specializing in traditional binders, Stone to Sand is proud to offer custom mortar formulation services that are project specific. All mortars are formulated based upon composition and color of the original mortar. Care is given to the final finish and location of where the mortar will be placed on a building. Previous service life of original mortars composition is considered during formulation.

Formulations can be based on locally available sands to provide the most cost effective formula, which is known as a “wet-formulation”.

A “dry-formulation” can be made with ASTM graded sands, appropriate pigments and appropriate binder.
