Repointing

Mortar between bricks, stones and other masonry units, naturally deteriorates as a sacrificial element on a wall. Overtime , this amounts to the mortar turning to sand, dust or simply disappearing. Repointing is the process of placing the missing mortar to repair the structural integrity, historic character and keep water out of the structure. A Quality repointing campaign should include a finished product that respects the subtle details that make masonry unique, such as color, texture and tooling.
